Taken in september last year, I thought I should add this photo to the Steel City series. This is the more presentable face of Sloss furnaces, as one watches from far. Getting closer, one will then start to notice the decay, the falling apart. But at this distance, the only sign of disuse seems to be the strangely silent smokestacks.
