The Last Leaf

6mm :: f 2.8 :: 1/300s :: Auto :: ISO 200 :: Fuji FinePix S5000

I was the last in the group to leave. I had to hurry down the stairs if I was going to keep up with them. But no, I just had to stop and shoot this.

I dont know why but I was so strongly reminded of this short story by O Henry - "The Last Leaf", that I had to shoot it.

It did look very quaint though, growing from a crevice near the window-sill, leaning towards the sliver of daylight between the two walls, a tiny voice of defiance that seemed to proclaim to mankind - u'll be gone someday too, but there will be other life... other creations. An expression of nature's ruggedness and adaptability.
