It was in September, that I paid two visits Sloss furnaces, the Bethlehem of Birmingham. The city was literally born with the iron industry here. Iron, Coal, Railway and Employment started it all.
As all things that rise, Sloss fell too. Fell into disuse, dilapidation. And it stands there, empty and broken. The forgotten eggshell from which this city hatched.
PS: The place is a national, historic landmark and is also a must-visit for ghost hunters. Plays host to a halloween celebration annually.
