Its the beginning of a new semester. And with it has come the urge to experiment with the black and white medium. I have gotten the chance to spend the next 4 months shooting black and white film. But before I spew out roll upon roll of trash, I wanted to get a sense of how the world looks devoid of color. I've spent the last few days with my digicam set on the black and white mode.
Trust me, its been a very different experience. Lots of surprises. And what rules is not color, but light. The intensity of light. Its a little like learning how to play water polo. Almost like the laws of physics are different.
